About St Thomas’
Overmonnow parish comprises the southern end of the historic town of Monmouth. The congregation at St Thomas’ is friendly and informal – there is a warm atmosphere to the worship and visitors are always welcomed. On the first Sunday of the month we have a shorter Family Eucharist. We are fortunate in having the involvement of a youth music group, who participate in this service.
St Thomas’ Church has recently redeveloped the old St Thomas’ Church Hall into a new, modern and attractive community hall. The hall has been renamed Ty Price, in memory of the late Revd Canon Norman Price, a former vicar of Overmonnow. Since it’s re-opening in July 2017, Ty Price has already become a centre for many community events, with a particular vision for enabling social inclusion. Find out more about Ty Price by going to its website, www.typricehall.co.uk

The church and Wayside Calvary Cross in the garden of remembrance attract many visitors, particularly during the summer months when the town and camping site are full of holiday makers. The church is left open all day every day during daylight hours for viewing and for private prayer – its’ visitors’ books reflect the diversity of those who appreciate finding the church open.
